| New Sheetfed Press Helps Arizona’s Oldest Printer take the next step |
KENNESAW, Ga. – Heidelberg announced that O’Neil Printing, a 96-year-old company located in Phoenix, Ariz., recently installed an eight-color Speedmaster SM 102 long perfector with aqueous coater that has increased sheetfed quality and output. The 40-inch Speedmaster perfector, - the only press of its kind in the Phoenix market - allows for four-over-four color printing in a single pass. With the new Speedmaster, O’Neil Printing’s dominance in the sheefed market will grow. This acquisition has freed up its existing press capacity to take on additional work and allow the company to explore new business opportunities in other markets. At the same time the press is helping O’Neil to meet the growing print demands of Arizona and in the broader Southwest. The range of Speedmaster models – including the SM 102 perfector – offer time-saving features such as the new Preset Plus feeder; the ability to control all peripheral devices using the touch screen of the Prinect CP2000 Center; and extremely fast washup and makeready times. The highly automated SM 102 results in higher throughput and increased ease of use. By running both sides of the sheet in one pass, other efficiencies are realized: wet-over-wet color matching, one customer OK session, no manual turning of the piles between printing, and less paper waste as a percentage of the entire run. This press joins O’Neil’s stable of Heidelberg equipment, which includes: O’Neil General Manager Tony Narducci sees the benefits passed along to clients by Heidelberg products such as the Eight Color Long Perfector 40 inch and the integration of these machines into a singular system as vital to the company’s success. O’Neil’s integrated Heidelberg system has allowed for a consistent level of color management across all printers that will help their burgeoning direct mail business. The new perfector will help bolster their ability to attack the short to medium print run market. “We had lots of choices, we’ve always gone back to the relationship and reliability of the product,” said Narducci. “We’ve always looked to Heidelberg for that comfort.” About O’Neil Printing: |
